Airports

PBI: Palm Beach International

Recommended

This is your best bet. PBI is just a 15-minute drive from The Breakers, making it the most convenient option by far. It's a mid-size airport with a relaxed feel, with no long terminal walks or overwhelming crowds. Most major airlines fly into PBI, including Delta, American, JetBlue, United, and Southwest. We recommend booking early, as September is still a popular travel month for South Florida.

FLL: Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International

About a 1-hour drive north to Palm Beach (traffic depending). FLL is a great option if you find a significantly better fare or are connecting through Fort Lauderdale. It's a larger airport with more flight options, including Spirit and Frontier for budget-friendly routes. The drive up I-95 is straightforward, and you'll get to see some beautiful Florida coastline along the way.

MIA: Miami International

About a 1-hour drive north, MIA is the largest airport in the region and offers the widest selection of international flights. If you're coming from overseas or can't find a direct route to PBI, Miami is a solid backup. Just factor in potential Miami traffic during rush hours, which can add some time. Consider renting a car if you fly into MIA. The drive up the coast is scenic and gives you flexibility for the weekend.

Ground Transportation

Rideshare (Uber & Lyft)

The easiest door-to-door option. Both Uber and Lyft operate at all three airports. From PBI, expect a fare of roughly $15 to $25 to The Breakers. From FLL or MIA, fares will be higher ($60 to $120+), so consider splitting with fellow guests if you're on the same flight. Tip: Uber Black and Lyft Lux are available if you want to arrive in style.

Car Rentals

If you'd like the freedom to explore Palm Beach on your own schedule, renting a car is a great choice. All three airports have rental counters from Hertz, Enterprise, Avis, National, and Budget. Parking at The Breakers is complimentary valet, so you won't need to worry about finding a spot. We recommend booking in advance; September rates tend to be reasonable.

Taxi & Private Car Service

Traditional taxis are available at all airports. For a more polished experience, consider booking a private car service in advance. Companies like Palm Beach Transportation and Luxury Rides PB offer sedan and SUV service with meet-and-greet at the terminal. It's a lovely way to start the weekend.

Hotel Shuttle & The Bruno Cart

If you're staying at The Ben (our hotel block), you'll have access to the complimentary Bruno cart, a charming open-air shuttle that runs between The Ben and The Breakers throughout the day and evening. It's a fun, quintessentially Palm Beach way to get to the venue without worrying about driving or parking.

Driving Directions

If you're driving to Palm Beach, the main routes are I-95 (from the north or south) and the Florida Turnpike. From I-95, take the Okeechobee Boulevard exit (Exit 70) east toward Palm Beach, then follow signs to Royal Poinciana Way and head south on County Road to The Breakers. The drive from Orlando is about 3 hours; from Jacksonville, roughly 4.5 hours; and from Tampa, about 3.5 hours.

Travel Tips

Book Early

Flights to PBI can fill up, especially on Thursdays and Fridays. We recommend booking at least 6 to 8 weeks in advance for the best fares and availability.

Travel Insurance

Since our wedding falls during hurricane season, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance for your flights and hotel. Most policies are affordable and will give you peace of mind in case of weather-related changes.

Time Zone

Palm Beach is in the Eastern Time zone (ET). If you're traveling from a different time zone, keep this in mind when planning your arrival; you don't want to miss the Welcome Celebration on Friday evening.

Tipping & Local Customs

Tipping 18 to 20% is customary at restaurants and for services in Palm Beach. Valet attendants typically receive $3–5. The culture here is warm and welcoming: think relaxed elegance. You'll fit right in.
